Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in New YorkA full weekend of Chinese culture including arts, music and more, high-lighted by the teams in the Dragon Boat races. Don’t miss the Dumpling Eating Contests, the Shaolin Kung Fu exhibition, or the night of Chinese theater. All events are rain or shine so don’t miss this!

August 4 and 5, 2007, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where:
By Car – Take the Long Island Expressway to Van Wyck Expressway south, exit at Exit 11, then stay on service road to the Park. There will be NO Parking in the usual Parking Lot unless a Parking Pass is Presented.

#7 to Willets Point/Shea Stadium – transfer to the special event bus.

E, F, R trains to Jackson Hts/Roosevelt Avenue – transfer to the Flushing bound #7 train to Willets Point/Shea Stadium.

Sahar Javedani at the Solar Powered Arts FestivalThis weekend, Solar Powered Arts Festival will be bringing you some the best in dance from around the world. Scheduled to perform are Tanya Calamoneri Company, Catey Ott Dance Collective, Lauren Hale Dance, Hettie Barnhill, Emily Harper Dance and Sahar Javedani and her Compani Javedani. Set in the beautiful Stuyvesant Cove Park, this offers a great chance to enjoy the last of summer.

The outdoor Solar One performance stage is located at the northern edge of Stuyvesant Cove at E. 23rd and the East River, adjacent to its green energy arts & education center.
