Forget those old laser light shows with Pink Floyd playing the background, now you can actually see the music. Over at the American Museum of Natural History they have a new groundbreaking digitally animated alternative music show, a fantastical dreamscape if you will. In collaboration with MTV2 ( I guess MTV1 was busy), visitors can new see a mind-warping musical roller-coaster at the Hayden Planetarium Space Theater. The visual mix tape is by Moby with track from With a mix by Moby and featuring tracks from Radiohead, U2, David Bowie, Coldplay, Queens of the Stone Age, Prodigy, The Flaming Lips, Fischerspooner, Spiritualized, Audioslave, Stereolab, Boards of Canada, David Byrne and Brian Eno, Goldfrapp, Zwan, White Zombie, and, well, Moby himself. The one-of-a-kind computer-generated visual uses next-generation technology, creating a morphing display that let’s you see the music. See it to believe it, every Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. in the Hayden Planetarium at the Museum’s Rose Center for Earth and Space. Tickets are $12-$15. |
